I bought the last SP, my kids slept and I never saw the monster under the bed thingy. But if I remember right there was some shenanigans about it in 3 (the logo), but I will be a good girl. Yes, I am agreeing Maxis is the original creator. I just wanted to clarify that Maxis is the original developer. I'm more into the gaming experience than the politics of it all. It's getting too confusing for my poor brain and I don't really care, tbh. Since then, Rachel took that lead? Now I think it's someone else, but I'm not sure. That's when it started to fall apart, but I'll refrain from that bit as things could've been much worse. Rod Humble took over near the end of Sims 2. What I do know, or at least what I recall as I don't really follow the history much is this: Will Wright was in charge of Sims 1 and Sims 2 until the end. They do still use it in 3, but I don't think they changed their name until recently. I feel your pain, and I have to work in the morning.
If I remember right (too hot to sleep and I am sleepy) they took up using it again in Sims 3.
I could say what I think about why they still use it.
